Storumans Energi AB sells electricity to customers throughout Sweden. We are a comparatively small company, a "dark horse"on the electricity market. On many occasions we have been the subject of attention from the media or from consumer organisations and received praise for our honesty, low prices and customer service.
That´s it! We produce no electricity ourselves, we only give sound advice to our customers and offer them excellent prices. At the moment there are 3 employees who cannot wait to provide assistance. When the Swedish electricity market was de-regulated we lead the way in promoting better prices and we have been successful.
Customer Service is located in Lapland
Our Customer Service is located (like the rest of the company), in Lapland, where most of Sweden's electrical power comes from. It is important that this can help create jobs in a sparsely populated region, although non of this would be possible without the support of our customers.

Operations
Storuman Energi AB sells electricity to customers throughout Sweden. We do not produce electricity but guarantee our sales on the Nordic Power Exchange through cooperation with our joint owners HelgelandsKraft AS.
Ownership
Through the community enterprise office, Storuman Utveckling AB (SUAB), the municipality of Storuman and HelgelandsKraft AS in Norway are equal share holders in the joint venture, Storuman Energi AB. The board is made up of representatives from both the municipality and HelgelandsKraft AS.
Company history
We began operations in 1999 and delivered electricity to our first customers in November 1999. At that time we operated within another company, Storuman Värme AB, which supplied heating to the local community.
In September 2000 operations were transferred to a separate company and from January 2001, ownership was divided equally between the Municipality of Storuman (through Storuman Värme AB) and HelgelandsKraft AS who had been our partners since the start.
At the beginning of December 2002 the company moved to its own present offices at Blå Vägen 237.
Since January 2003 the company has been jointly owned by SUAB and HelgelandsKraft AS.
We increased our staff from 4 at the start to 18 in May 2003. This was due to a dramatic rise in the number of customers between 2002 and the beginning of 2003.
Storuman
The municipality of Storuman is 250 km long and is bordered by Lycksele in the east and Norway in the west. The source of the regulated Umeälven river is found in the mountains and its course through the forested region has always been of huge importance, whether forlogging, hydro-electric power or fishing and tourism.
The 7500km2 region is home to around 7000 inhabitants.
Our head office is located in the main centre, Storuman, which is situated in the eastern part of the municipality.
